The 5 Best CFO Summits of Spring 2018

Spring conference season is upon us. From February through June 2018, a number of events will bring the nation’s top financial leaders together. We dug through all of them to find the 5 most valuable thought leadership conferences for CFOs and other finance leaders in the first half of 2018. Here they are according to date:

PEI CFOs & COOs Forum 2018

January 24 – 25, New York City

Private Equity International is planning this two-day event for more than their core audience of private equity professionals. They’re also lining up content for audit, compliance, and operations. Predictably with such a wide range of coverage, topics will run the gamut from tactical talks (“Mapping Out Your Data Strategy”) to high-level ruminations on the future of the CFO role.

Perfect if you are: Looking to rub elbows. This conference boasts impressive star power, with recent keynote speakers including Alan Greenspan and former US Congressman Barney Frank.

CFO Exchange

February 25 – 27, Miami

Technology dominates the fifth installment of event producer IQPC’s CFO conference, “Managing Through Uncertainty.” This conference will skew heavily towards catching finance leaders up with the developments radically reshaping the landscape of finance. Learn about blockchain, advances in payments—even financial reporting isn’t safe from the augers of fintech.

Perfect if you are: Looking for a one-stop education in all that finance technology you’ve been meaning to learn about.

AICPA CFO Conference

May 2 4, New York City

The last time you encountered AICPA might well have been in a state of existential agony. This time, they want it to be more enjoyable. From the organization that brought you the Uniform CPA Examination comes this three-day event dedicated to helping CFOs, bankers, auditors, and other finance professionals navigate a quickly changing finance landscape.

Perfect if you are: Unable to make it to a conference this spring, since you can also attend online in real time.

Richmond Events’ The CFO Forum

May 3, New York City and June 14, San Francisco

The UK-based Richmond Events is putting on twin conferences centered around the impact and outlook of technology. The keynote will center around AI’s impact on the finance function while talks will divide into three categories: leading the business, improving processes, and managing technology.

Perfect if you are: A senior finance executive “who is looking to attend a strategic forum where no time is wasted.” Eligibility to attend is determined based on your company’s size and your personal authority over budget.

The CFO Leadership Council

May 9 – 10, Boston

This two-day conference focuses on offering “tangible tools” for building your leadership skills. The schedule packs in two full days of conference: keynotes, interactive breakout sessions, and networking events. Speakers come from diverse backgrounds—including the US military—and focus on organization psychology and leadership training.

Perfect if you are: Looking for a dense, quick training experience to become a better manager.
